Lekcija 27 (od 27)

736

And you take work home over the weekend, don't you?
Yes, sometimes, sir.
You want to learn as much as possible about the business, don't
you?
Yes, I try to learn as much as I can, sir.
You go to night school three times a week, don't you?
Yes, I do, sir.
And you can already speak four foreign languages, can't you?
Not four, sir. Only French, German, and Spanish.

Well, I don't know, sir. . .
And you expect promotion and a rise, don't you?
Well, yes, sir. . .
I'm sorry, but I'll have to disappoint you, young man. I'm forced
to fire you. I've often had clever fellows like you. They learn here,
and then they go out and start a rival business.

Suviše opasan

Šef je pozvao mladog službenika
   u svoj ured.
Veoma se interesirate za svoj
   posao, zar ne?
Da, gospodine.
U stvari, za tu vrstu posla
ste neobično obdareni,
   zar ne?

Vrlo ste ljubazni, gospodine.
Točni ste i pouzdani, zar ne?

Trudim se, gospodine.
Svaki dan radite prekovremeno,
   zar ne?
Da, istina je, gospodine.
I preko nedjelje nosite posao kući,
   zar ne?

Da, ponekad, gospodine.
Želite što više da naučite o svom
   poslu, zar ne?

Da, pokušavam da naučim koliko
   mogu, gospodine.
Tri puta nedjeljno idete u večernju
   školu, zar ne?

Da, gospodine.
I znate već četiri strana jezika,
   zar ne?

Ne četiri, gospodine.
Sarno francuski, njemački
   i španjolski.
Na svome poslu ste mnogo bolji
   nego drugi službenici,
   zar ne?

Pa, ne znam, gospodine . . .
I očekujete unapređenje i
   povišicu,
   zar ne?
Pa, da, gospodine . . .
Žao mi je, mladiću,
   ali moram vas
   razočaratl.
Prisiljen sam da vas otpustim.
Imao sam više puta bistre mladiće
   kao što ste vi.
Ovdje uče, a zatim odlaze

750

751

Usporedite svoj rad  s niže napisanim tekstom i ispravite greške. Ako ih imate više od 6, ponovite diktat, tj. još jedanput obradite zvučni zapis br. 750.

I'm (I am) very interested in my work.
I've (I have) got an unusual talent for this kind of work.
I'm (I am) punctual and reliable, and I work overtime every day.
I can speak three foreign languages, and I'm (I am) learning a fourth at
night school.
I'm (I am) much better at my job than the other clerks.
I was expecting promotion and a rise, but now my boss has fired me.

752

Sljedeći primjeri to pokazuju:

a. You are
b. This man is
c. She was
d. The Taylors were
e. You can
f. They will
g. Ann works
h. You expected

very interested in your work,
punctual and reliable,
at the Air Terminal,
in Spain too,
speak English,
be able to come,
overtime every day,
a rise,

aren't you?
isn't he?
wasn't she?
weren't they?
can't you?
won't they?
doesn't she?
didn't you?

e. Svi znate engleski, zar ne?
f. Moći ce da dođu, zar ne?
g. Ann svaki dan radi prekovremeno, zar ne?
h. Očekivali ste povišicu, zar ne?

Pravilo: ako se u prvom dijelu rečenice nalazi potvrdni oblik pomoćnog glagola (npr. are, can, will) isti se u upitnom izrazu ponovi u odrečnom obliku.

He has
The boss has
They have

got

a Rolls-Royce,
him,
lunch in town,

hasn't he?
hasn't he?
don't they?

Nikad nećete pogriješiti ako budete vodili računa o gornjim primjerima.
Prema tome:
Ako have stoji u kombinaciji s drugim glagolom (u odgovarajućem obliku kao npr.: fired, got, given) do se ne upotrebljava. Ako u rečenici stoji sarno have upotrebljava se do .

child - children
man - men
mouse - mice
wife - wives
woman - women

(dijete - djeca)
(čovjek -ljudi)
(miš - miševi)
(žena-žene)
(žena-žene)

Stavite u množinu imenice u zagradama.
