I u novom tekstu koji ćete čuti u br. 652 vježbati ćete usporedbu pridjeva i uspoređivanje. Pošto su riječi iz ovog teksta koje ćemo usporediti većinom dugačke, njima ne dodajemo nastavak -er/-est, već ispred njih stavimo more i most: more expensive, the most convenient itd.
__ Sada obradite zvučni zapis br. 652.

652

653

Smith-a boli stomak.
U br. 654 je tekst koji ste čuli napisan. Pozorno ga pratite dok istovremeno još jednom slušate zvučni zapis
__ Za br. 654 potrebno vam je istovremeno pratiti tekst i slušati zvučni zapis.

Let's go to Eastbourne again this year. It's got the most sunshine.
The most sunshine in England, you mean. But if we really want a

We don't have to go as far as that. The Channel Islands have a lot
of sunshine, too.
Yes, but Spain is more exciting.
It's also further away. And the journey is more expensive.
Don't forget that in Spain food and lodging are cheaper than in Britain.
And don't you forget that Spanish is more difficult than English.
Why must we go abroad? I say let's go to Eastbourne. It's the
nearest and most convenient place for us.
It's also the most boring place for me. You play golf from

Exactly. But I want something different this year. I want to have a
bit more colour, and I want to meet interesting people. I'm sure
Spain will be more interesting for us than Eastbourne or the Channel Islands.

It is three months later. The Smiths are in Spain. There are a lot of cars outside their hotel. They all have GB plates on them. Mr and Mrs Smith are lying on their beds in their hotel room. They are both very ill: Mrs Smith's skin is burning like fire, and Mr Smith's stomach is aching like hell.

Niže je engleski tekst napisan još jednom s prijevodom, kako bi lakše zapamtili značenje engleskih riječi, ili još bolje, rećenica.

The holiday

Mr and Mrs Smith are making
   plans for their holiday.
Let's go to Eastbourne again
   this year.
It's got the most sunshine.
The most sunshine in England,
   you mean.
But if we really
want a lot of sunshine, why
   don't we go to Spain?
We don't have to go
   as far as that.
The Channel Islands have
   a lot of sunshine, too.
Yes, but Spain is more exciting.
It's also further away.
And the journey is more expensive.
Don't forget that in Spain
   food and lodging are cheaper
   than in Britain.
And don't you forget
   that Spanish is more difficult
   than English.
Why must we go abroad?

I say let's go
   to Eastbourne.
It's the nearest and
   most convenient place for us.
It's also the most boring
   place for me.
You play golf
from morning till evening. . .
. . . and you sit in your
   deck chair all day.
Exactly. But I want
   something different this year.
I want to have a bit more colour,
   and I want to meet
   interesting people.
I'm sure Spain will
   be more interesting for us
   than Eastbourne or the
   Channel Islands.
It is three months later:
The Smiths are in Spain.
There are a lot of cars
   outside their hotel.
They all have GB plates on them.
Mr and Mrs Smith are lying on
their beds in their hotel room.
They are both very ill:
   Mrs Smith's skin is burning
   like fire, and Mr Smith's
   stomach is aching like hell.

Godišnji odmor

G. i g-đa Smith planiraju
   godišnji odmor.
Pođimo i ove godine
   u Eastbourne.
Ima najviše sunca.
Misliš najviše sunca
   u Engleskoj.
Ali, ako zaista želimo
   mnogo sunca, zašto
   ne idemo u Španjolsku?
Ne treba da idemo
   tako daleko.
I otoci u La Manche-u imaju
   mnogo sunca.
Da, ali Španjolska je uzbudljivija.
Ali i dalje je.
I put je skuplji.
Ne zaboravi da su u Španjolskoj
   hrana i stan jeftiniji
   nego u Britaniji.
A ti ne zaboravi da je
   španjolski jezik teži od
   engleskog.
Zašto moramo da idemo
   u inozemstvo.
Dakle, pođimo u Eastbourne.

Najbliže je i najpogodnije
   mjesto za nas.
I najdosadnije mjesto za mene.

Ti igraš golf
   od jutra do večeri
   . . . a ti sjediš u svom
   naslonjaču po cijeli dan.
Točno, ali ove godine
   želim nešto drugo.
Voljela bih da malo više
   pocrnim i da upoznam
   zanimljiv svijet.
Sigurna sam da će Španjolska
   biti za nas zanimljivija
   od Eastbourne-a ili
   otoka u La Manche-u.
Tri mjeseca kasnije:
Smith-ovi su u Španjolskoj.
Pred njihovim hotelom ima
   mnogo automobila.
Svi imaju GB tablice.
G. i g-đa Smith leže na
   krevetima u hotelskoj sobi.
Oboje su veoma bolesni:
   Koža g-đe Smith vrela je
   kao vatra, a g. Smith-a

665

666

Usporedite svoj rad  s niže napisanim tekstom i ispravite greške. Ako ih imate više od 6, ponovite diktat, tj. još jedanput obradite zvučni zapis br. 665.

Spain has more sunshine than the Channel Islands.
But it's (it is) also further away, and the journey is more expensive.
Eastbourne is the nearest and most convenient place for us.
I want to have a bit more colour, and I want to meet interesting people.
I'm (I am) sure Spain will be more exciting for us than Eastbourne or
the Channel Islands.

667

Duže riječi koje bi s nastavkom -er/-est zvučile neobično, (ili bile teške za izgovor), usporedirno s -more i -most koje stavljamo ispred riječi koju usporedimo:

an expensive car
skupi automobil

a difficult job
težak posao

a more expensive car
skuplji automobil

a more difficult job
teži posao

the most expensive car
najskuplji automobil

the most difficult job
najteži posao

U br. 668 vježbati ćete takovu vrstu uspoređivanja (u 4 faze) na sljedeći način:

much - more – most
many - more – most

dalek - dalji - najdalji
mnogo - više - najviše
mnogo - više - najviše (mn.)
