Lekcija 23 (od 27)

624

Maybe. But I'm sure it was dearer, too. Ours is perhaps a bit

prettier than ours. We must have new ones, too, sooner or later.
I never notice curtains. Are ours really as bad as you say?
They're even worse! I'm sure they're the oldest and ugliest in the
neighbourhood.
Curtains are not important anyway.

No, George, I don't agree. Our car is still all right. It's just a bit older,

Milo za drago

G. i g-đa Smith doručkuju.

Razgovaraju o svojim susjedima
   Taylor-ovima.
G- đa Taylor ima novi krzneni
   kaput.
Da Ii je lijep kao tvoj?
Još je ljepši od moga.

Zar ti se ne čini da bi i ja
   morala imati novi?
Ne, ne mislim.
Pa, vidiš da je tvoj krzneni
   kaput još uvijek vrlo lijep.
Sarno je malo stariji od (kaputa)
   g-đe Taylor.
Taylor-ovi imaju i novi hladnjak.

Mnogo je veći i bolji od našeg.

Možda. Ali, siguran sam da je bio
   i mnogo skuplji.
Naš je možda nešto
   manji i manje moderan,
   ali još uvijek odlično radi.

Mislim da nam novi
   još nije potreban.
Jesi Ii vidio
   njihove nove zavjese?
Vrlo su lijepe,
   mnogo ljepše od naših.
I mi moramo svakako uskoro
   nabaviti nove.
Nikad ne obraćam pozornost na zavjese.
Jesu Ii naše stvarno tako loše
   kao što kažeš?
Još su gore!
Sigurna sam da su najstarije i
   najružnije u susjedstvu.

Zavjese i tako nisu važne.

Možda si u pravu.
Uostalom, jesi Ii vidio novi
   automobil g. Taylor-a?
Što? Novi auto?
Zar nije prije samo šest mjeseci
   kupio novi?
Da, aIi ovo je najnoviji model.

Sigurna sam da je najbolji
   u susjedstvu.

Možda je i najveći.
Sigurno je najnoviji.
Mislim da ćemo i mi morati
   kupiti novi automobil.
Zar ne misliš, draga?
Ne, ne mislim, George.
Naš auto je još uvijek dobar.
Sarno malo je stariji,
   manji i manje moderan od
   njihovog.

638

639

Usporedite svoj rad  s niže napisanim tekstom i ispravite greške. Ako ih imate više od 6, ponovite diktat, tj. još jedanput obradite zvučni zapis br. 638.

The Taylors have a new fridge.
It is (It's) much bigger and better than ours.
Their curtains are much prettier, too.
Their car is the latest model.
Mrs Taylor's new fur coat is much nicer than mine.
We have the oldest fridge, the ugliest curtains,
and the slowest car in the neighbourhood.
Mrs Taylor's husband is a real man, but I married a mouse.
Isn't it terrible?

640

U ovoj lekciji saznali ste kako uspoređujemo riječi kao: old, small i fast:

an old car
stari automobil

a small car
mali automobil

a fast car
brzi automobil

an older car
stariji automobil

a smaller car
manji automobil

a faster car
brži automobil

the oldest car
najstariji automobil

the smallest car
najmanji automobil

the fastest car
najbrži automobil

Vidjeli ste da riječi kao šsto su:
old, small, fast uspoređujemo tako što im dodajemo –er/-est.

nice - nicer – nicest
late - later - latest

big - bigger - biggest
hot - ho tter - hottest

pretty - prettier - prettiest
ugly - uglier - ugliest

nijemo e otpada
(usporedite br. 478  i 283)

-d, -g, -n, - t se nekada
udvajaju (usporedite br. 478)

- y se često mijenja u - i
(usporedite br. 478, 105)

U br. 641 vježbati ćete (u 4 faze) uspoređivanje. Primjer:

__ Sada obradite zvučni zapis br. 641. Vježba nema primjera.

641

642

Sarno mali broj riječi usporedi se "nepravilno".
Tri od tih su:

bad - worse - worst

good - better - best

little - less -least

loš - gori - najgori

dobar - bolji - najbolji

mali - manji – najmanji

U br. 643 vježbati ćete (u 4 faze) pravilne i "nepravilne" oblike uspoređivanja. Primjer:

Čujete:
Kažete:
