Lekcija 17 (od 27)

462

Novi engleski tekst koji ćete čuti u br. 463 veoma će proširiti vaše mogućnosti izražavanja, jer ćete naučiti prošlo vrijeme glagola, i to prvo nepravilnih. Tekst će vam vjerojatno, kao i obično, u početku izgledati malo teži.
__ Sada slušajte zvučni zapis br. 463.

463

464

When did you arrive home yesterday evening?
I arrived home at about eight o'clock yesterday.
What did you do after you entered your flat?
Well, I washed my hands, and then I watched television
for a while. I wanted to hear the sports news.
When did you have supper?
I didn't have a proper supper. I just had a little snack.
When was that?
At about a quarter to nine, I think.
Did you stay at home all evening?
Yes, I stayed at home all evening.
But your friend Joe Miller says that he tried to phone
you several times between half past eight and half past
nine. You didn't answer the phone.
Well, I think I was in the bath at that time.
No, you weren't in the bath, my friend. You weren't
even at home last night. You were out in the East End,
where you knocked down and, robbed a man in Jane
Street. The man died a few hours ago. - George Parker,
I arrest you for the murder of Ronald Henry Wilson. . .

466

   oko osam sati.

Što ste radili nakon
što ste ušli u svoj stan?

Pa, oprao sam ruke, a zatim
   sam neko vrijeme gledao
   televiziju.
Htio sam da čujem sportske
   vijesti.
Kada ste večerali?
Nije to bila prava večera.
Samo sam malo prezalogajio.
Kada je to bilo?
Čini mi se oko petnaest do
   devet.
Jeste Ii cijelu večer ostali
   kod kuće?
Da, cijelu večer sam ostao kod
   kuće.
Ali, vaš prijatelj Joe Miller
kaže da je pokušao nekoliko puta
   da vam telefonira između
   pola devet i pola deset.

Niste se javili.
Pa, mislim da sam u to vrijeme
   bio u kupatilu.
Ne, prijatelju, niste bili u
   kupatilu.
Sinoć uopće niste bili kod
   kuće.
Bili ste u istočnom dijelu Londona,
gdje ste u ulici Jane oborili
   i opljačkali jednog čovjeka.

Čovjek je izdahnuo prije nekoliko
   sati.
George Parker, hapsim vas zbog
ubojstva Ronald Henry Wilson. . .

476

477

Usporedite svoj rad  s niže napisanim tekstom i ispravite greške. Ako ih imate više od 6, ponovite diktat, tj. još jedanput obradite zvučni zapis br. 476.

He arrived home at about eight o'clock.
After that, he watched television for a while.
At a quarter to nine he had a little snack.
When Joe Miller tried to phone him, he was in the bath.
He stayed at home all evening, and he didn't (did not) knock down
that man in Jane Street.

478

arrive - arrived
hope - hoped

rob – robbed

try – tried
to da:stay- stayed

Nijemo -e otpada pred nastavkom –ed (usporedi br. 283)

Primjer:

Čujete:
Odgovorite:
Čujete pravilan odgovor:
Ponovite odgovor:

Did you arrive at eight o'clock?
Yes, I arrived at eight o'clock.
Yes, I arrived at eight o'clock.
Yes, I arrived at eight o'clock.

__ Sada obradite zvučni zapis br. 479. Vježba nema primjera.

479

480

I am in the bath
He is in Jane Street
You are in the East End
I have supper at nine o'clock
When do you arrive home?

---> I was in the bath
---> He was in Jane Street
---> You were in the East End
