Lekcija 12 (od 27)

322

The better man

Frank is in the office. He is very angry. Here he is talking to a colleague:
"I can't understand why that fellow Sharp is now chief clerk.
I work overtime every day.
He never works overtime.
I always take work home over the weekend.
He never takes work home over the weekend.

I speak two foreign languages.
He speaks no foreign languages at all.
I read the Financial Times every day.
Sharp only reads the Daily Mirror.
I work like a horse from morning to night.
That fellow only drinks gallons of tea, smokes dozens of cigarettes, and
flirts with the girls.
When I study our sales figures, he studies the football results.
When I go to night school, he goes to the cinema.
But now he's chief clerk, and I'm not. It's very unfair. I can't understand it."
"Be careful, Frank," says his colleague, "you're talking about the
boss's future son-in-law!"

326

Razgovara s jednim kolegom:
Ne mogu da razumijem
   zašto je taj Sharp
   sada šef odjeljenja.
Ja svaki dan radim prekovremeno.
On nikada ne radi prekovremeno.
Ja uvijek nosim posao kući

On preko nedjelje nikada ne
   nosi posao kući.
Ja govorim dva strana jezika.

   nogometne rezultate.
Kad ja idem u večernju školu,
   on ide u kino.
A sada je šef odjeljenja on,
   a ne ja.
To jc veoma nepravedno.
Ja to ne shvaćarn.
Budi obazriv Frank,
   kaže mu kolega,
   govoriš o gazdinom budućem
   zetu.

U br. 334 čuti ćete dio engleskog teksta za diktat. Svaku skupinu riječi čuti ćete dva puta, zatim sljedi stanka, kako biste mogli da napišete ono što ste čuli. Kad završite diktat, još jedanput ga poslušajte povezano, tj. bez stanki i interpunkcije.

334

335

Usporedite svoj rad  s niže napisanim tekstom i ispravite greške. Ako ih imate više od 4, ponovite diktat, tj. još jedanput obradite zvučni zapis br. 334.

Frank can't understand why his colleague Sharp is now chief clerk.
Frank works overtime every day and always takes work home over the weekend.
Sharp only drinks gallons of tea and flirts with the girls.

336

U ovoj lekciji upoznali ste glagolski oblik s nastavkom –s. Sharp reads the Daily Mirror. He flirts with the girls.

bez -s

he
she
it

Sharp

reads

works
flirts

the Mirror
French

I

Utvrdili ste da oblik s nastavkom -s upotrebljavamo za glagole s he, she, it i za imenice kada su u množini; U ostalim primjerima nema nastavka –s.
Oblik glagola s nastavkom -s vjebati ćete u vježbi br. 337 (u 4 faze).
Primjer:

Čujete:
Kažete:
Čujete odgovor:
Ponovite:

I always work overtime.
But Sharp never works overtime.
But Sharp never works overtime.
But Sharp never works overtime.

__ Sada obradite zvučni zapis br. 337. Vježba nema primjera.

337

338
